DOES THE TRANSMISSION HAVE A LOCK OUT AND A FLUID SENDING UNIT?

Car over heated thought it was a blown head gasket, find out the engine needs replaced, bought new engine, had to buy special part for the exhaust to fit, then had to buy new torque converter, now the garage is telling us we need a lockout silenoid and a fluid sending unit. Have given this garage over 2000 and still no car

Yes, it does and could have been damaged.
