The horn pad may be damaged. It most likely needs to be replaced.

It may be part of the air bag. Call the dealer and ask them if it can be purchased separately

Horn does not work. Twelve volt system with good battery. When ignition is on there is only 6.8 volts and one and five on the horn relay. Have no idea why.

Hello,

Here is a wiring diagram (below) for the horn and a couple of guides to help you do some testing. Unplug the horns while testing it sounds like it might be shorted out.

and

Please let us know what happens, we are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

This doesnt help. I am a mechanic and an electrician so I know how to troubleshoot and have already taken those steps. What I need help understanding is why the relay block is only receiving 6 volts when there is NO short in the system.

How many volts does the battery have? There is a main feed into the fuse block if you have 12 volts there then the fuse block is bad and needs replacement or repair. I would check the power coming off of the ignition switch and accessory relay as well.

Here are more wiring diagrams (below)

Please let us know what happens.

The owner's manual should show which fuse is for the horn. However, that has nothing to do with the check engine light. You need to have the computer scanned to determine what trouble code/s are stored in the car's computer. Most parts stores will do it for free.

Suddently the horn on this car is not working. As you can see with the mileage it has not been driven much because it is owned by a senior citizen who rarely drives.

Can you advise on repair, can we do this ourselves for her? Thanks

B14 Sentra horn has a tendency to just quit working. I advise that you replace it with an aftermarket one from any auto parts store. Should cost around $15.
