The backup lights on my 2006 4-cyl Kia Sportage won't come on -- even though the bulbs are fine and the fuse is good. I figure it's the neutral safety switch/backup sensor, but need to know where exactly that switch is located so I can change it out. Thanks in advance for any help!

My vehicle was recently at a Kia dealer for quite some time and I have been unhappy with their service. The last time I was in they said I had code P0705 (Transmission Range Switch) the part is cheap and they say labor is about an hour; however, the way they have handled my car each time I'd guess that it would take a week to get done. I'd like to fix the part myself if possible but I have no idea where it even is to begin. Where is it? Any idea if this part would cause my car to have trouble shifting when climbing hills and getting to highway speeds on occasion?

Its on the right side of the transmission-could be a TPS and VSS sensor problem- The TRS is aka the old term-neutral safety switch selecting gears
