Car started running rough one day, then losing power upon acceleration. It progressed to where it would barely run, and now won't start at all, just cranks over. Replaced fuel pump, distributor & cap (timing correct), MAF sensor, tried used PCM, new spark plugs and wires. Timing belt good and in time. Have great spark, fuel pressure & compression. Tried starter fluid with no response. Catalytic convertor is clear. Checked power and ground to injectors, even pulled fuel rail (held injectors with nyties) and watched each injector fire w/ good mist. TPS is within specs. Changed fuel in tank. All fuses are good. Ignition switch good. Throttle body and intake manifold is clear (via scope). Pulled off IAC valve no difference, engine just cranks. One interesting thing, when we pulled off fuel rail and pointed the injectors toward their holes, the car actually started and ran really rough for a short time. It will try to run with injectors out, but put them back in, no start.

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if okay-check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing

Have nice blue spark. Hear fuel pump and have great fuel pressure. Already replaced fuel filter. Injectors are pulsing and are putting out nice fine mist.

Re-verified ignition timing, firing order, etc. And also re-checked valve timing, timing belt, and watched all valves move. Re-checked compression. VTEC solenoid is free.
