2000 FORD EXPLORER CHANGING BATTERY

I was having battery issues so I replaced the battery. However, whenever I connect the negative cable, the horn goes off, the headlights come on, windshield wipers turn on, and lots of weird lights on the dash come on. Like the overdrive off light, right arrow for the indicators comes on and several others. Is this a computer issue? How do I fix this?

Check to make sure there is a battery to body and engine to body cables connected first.
