I have changed the two fuses for the hi/lo fans. I don't know what else to do. It is still blowing hot air when I set it to cool air. What do I do?

Heater blows cold when at a stop, and only blows hot while in motion. Alternatively the AC gets warm when stopped, and blows colder while in motion.
Thanks,
Don

Hi:
Honestly, it sounds like you are low on coolant (heat) and freon (AC). Is the serp belt making any noise when the AC is on?

Thanks for the reply.

Will check the fluid in the morning.

No noise from the belt.

I have a buddy with ac gauges, I'll have him check on the freon.

Thanks,
DT

I have a 99 Dodge Interpid I have used the ATC when ever using the air. Up until yesterday the A/C has worked great. Yesterday morning it was a little cooler so I increased the temp to get some warmer air. No problem, the air was redirect to my feet and was great. Later in the day as it got hotter out I lowered the temp on the control to get the A/C going again. The air was redirected to mid level as it should, the problem is it is only blowing hot air. I know the A/C is working as the compressor kicks on and the lines coming out are cold. I know the doors redirecting the air are working since I cycled through all of them. It's just the mixing door is stuck in the hot position. I need to know where that door is and what do I need to do to repair it.

It sounds like the blend air door. It is located near the heater core in the HVAC system. Adjust the temp from hot to cold to see if it is working.

Did you check to see if the compressor output line going to interior is getting cold? It usually gets frosty.

Hi I recently lost my a/c in the car I had it on and it was running fine but it got cool that night and turned on the heat when I came to put the a/c back on the next day their was only heat coming out and hot just like the heater. I changed the hole heat and a/c unit and it was not that and the freon is full but now im trying to find the flap or flaps that might be jamed or malfunctionning. Could u help me out in telling me what the problem could be and were to find those traps that would open and close my hole dash is apart and its a real pain in the. Thank you very much

Do a function test like this and it will tell you where the problem is!

Air Conditioning problem
1997 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive

husband has noticed water pooling in back floor of car but also a little wet on front passager side. No apparent leak from doors, windors or any where at this time. Could it be the a/c it has been very hot and it is on consently?

Yes, it could be the AC. Open the hood and on the firewall (passanger side) you will see a black rubber hose pointing down toward nothing. Check the end to make sure it isn't plugged from road dirt, oil.

Let me know what you find.
