Do you ever see any smoke when it finally starts out the exhaust?Do you have any codes? You could have a bad coolant temp sensor bleeding down fuel pump a lot of different things.

Sounds like you could have a bad coolant temp sensor or bleeding injector. Do you have any codes?Have you checked for any yet?

Your going to have to rent a fuel pressure gauge and see if the fuel pressure bleeds down. Also do you have a multimeter to do some testing?
