My temperature gauge on my car is reading hot after only driving it for 5 minutes, kicking the fan on. It was stalling out when I tried to start it yesterday, and this morning it won't start at all. It will sound like it's about ready to fire up, but then it will cough and the starter will be trying to revive it.

I would remove the spark plugs first and see if they aren't gas fouled. While you have them out check for compression in all cylinders. If compression is ok clean and dry plugs reinstall.

I would also replace the temp sensor there is two of them one for the guage and one for the fuel injection. If the fuel injection sensor goes bad it will foul all plugs at once.
