Air flow on hot is slower than on cold?

I have a 1999 Pontiac Montana. The volume of air flow is greater when the climate control is in the cold position than when it is in the hot? What is the problem? There is ample of air flow in the cold position, then when I turn it to the hot position the air flow drop considerably.
