Make sure you routed the belt correctly. These engines have an auto belt tensioner meaning once you route the belt youll need to take tension off the tensioner to complete assembly and release. The tensioner will take up the extra slack. Make sure you retightened the alternator bolts! But to answer your question I believe the tensioner is to the left above the crank.
