Belt tensioner location needed

Where is the belt tensioner on ford taurus station wagon 99 3.0 V/6 I originally loosend the alternator bolts to get the belt off and so I put the new one on figured it would be tight but no plz help it's my grandmas car

Make sure you routed the belt correctly. These engines have an auto belt tensioner meaning once you route the belt youll need to take tension off the tensioner to complete assembly and release. The tensioner will take up the extra slack. Make sure you retightened the alternator bolts! But to answer your question I believe the tensioner is to the left above the crank.
