1999 Ford Mustang mileage: 106,000. The other day my car stopped dead in the middle of the road. The computer gives me the 542 code. According to my repair manual, that means Fuel pump secondary circuit failure: ECM to ground motor. Now, I have no idea what that means.I'm trying to located the fuel pump relay switch to test it. The fuel pump, filter, and spark plugs have all passed their test. However, the manual doesn't mention the location of the relay. Where is the fuel pump relay located in a 91-2.3L Mustang?

Hello,

The fuel pump relay is located in the CCRM under the hood on the right side. Here is a guide to test it with the location of the relay below.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

The fuel pump driver module is under the dash near the glovebox. Also check the interior and engine compartment junction boxes.(See images)

Engine Performance problem 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 85,000 miles

My sisters 99 Mustang is having a problem with starting from time to time. It can go a full day without doing this, or part of a day then it won't start. It turns over but will not start. We are thinking the fuel pump because we don't hear it run, but we was also told to try the fuel pump relay first. Could someone tell me where I can find the fuel pump relay before I change the pump. Thank you.
