99 ford f250 front axle and leaf spring questions about weight rating
The truck has a dana 50/229 front axle, the sticker on the truck says a weight rating of 4400, I could be wrong but I thought the dana 50 rating was 5000, the leaf springs were originally 2 leaf pack rating of 2230 or something close to that but have been replaced with the 3 leaf pack with a rating of 3950 or close to that. Are those numbers right on the axle and with the new springs on does that change any numbers with the axle? Trying to put new plow on but the one I am trying to get dealer says is to heavy for 4400 but can go on 5200 rated truck, plow ways close to 1000 lbs? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Going to 3 is fine. You wont have an issue with that. With 3 the rating is above 4400.

Take it somewhere else to have the plow mounted.
