Hello,

Here is a guide to help walk you through the steps with the locations in the instructions and diagrams below.

The upstream sensor (1/1) is located just before the main catalytic convertor.

The downstream sensor (1/2) is located just after the main catalytic convertor.

The right upstream sensor (2/1) is located in the right exhaust downpipe just before the mini-catalytic convertor.

The left upstream sensor (1/1) is located in the left exhaust downpipe just before the mini-catalytic convertor.

The right downstream sensor (2/2) is located in the right exhaust downpipe just after the mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor.

The left downstream sensor (1/2) is located in the left exhaust downpipe just after the mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor.

How many O2 sensors are there, where are they located and how do you change them? The eroor code on my truck was for the Bank1, Sensor1. Where is that? (I'll be happy to donate depending on how helpful an answer I get!)

Depends on the exhaust system sometimes. But you should have 4.

Bank 1 sensor 1
means the first sensor on the side with cylinder number 1.
For Dodges number 1 is on the driver's side.
So it is the one closest to the engine. The 1st one
on the driver side.
Should be a 7/8 maybe 13/16 size hex. It will be in there TIGHT.

Hi all, I have a 2000 dodge durango 4.7 4wd and have replaced 3 02 sensors, but, still have a sensor code p0132. Some say california durango have 4 02s. Replaced passenger side pre cat and after cat and the one after the driver's side front wheel.

Where can I locate the last one?

How old is the oil? Has it been sitting for the year as well? I would suggest an oil change. Do it on a nice hot day if you don't want to run the engine to warm it up. When it is running and with the oil filler cap off, is there oil being thrown around?

I changed the oil when I stopped driving it 1 year ago. When I get a warm day I will check for the oil bein pumped up to the cams, any other thoughts? Thanks for the suggestion.

Mine had been doing that and checked everything. And figured out that the oil really needed to changed. Especially if the oil has been sitting as long as the car has.

I don't know where you got the idea that code had anything to do with an O/2 sensor. It has to do with the fuel gauge voltage being too high.

I have recently replaced my o2 sensors for the upstream and down sream twice since the fall. I went to get a diagnostic and he gave me the codes of po0037, po0133, po0137, po0138, and po0171b. I have looked these codes up and still can't figure out why my o2 sensors keep blowing? Please give me some insight because this beyond my comprehension.

There are no diagnostic fault codes that tell which component is causing the problem. The codes indicate the circuit or system. There could be sensor wires that fell down onto the hot exhaust system and melted, corrosion in the connector pins, corroded splices, etc.

If any engine repairs were done recently, there are a lot of rtv sealers that give off fumes that will destroy O2 sensors.

Based on the contradictory nature of some of the codes, I would start by looking for corrosion between the connector pins. Next, I'd recommend using a scanner to watch the sensor voltages change as the engine is warmed up and running.

Thank you. I will put 2 more o2 sensors in tomorrow, and I will check for corrosion or a faulty harness. Today I put a good fuel injection cleaner in my gas tank and made a huge difference, but it still not up to par. If need be a will re-check my spark plugs also and go to a dodge dealership to see about the wiring harness.

Just disconnect electrical connector and remove from the exhaust system.
