1999 dodge dakota - 6 cyl - standard cab. - Abs on front wheels only - 2 wheel drive
Both the ABS and BRAKE light have come on, also the speedometer quit working at the same time. I checked for leaks or loose wires and blown fuses. There are no braking or other drivability problems. What could be causing this? - Dave

Do you
have the same problem?

Check the speed sensor. When there's no signal, there's no way for the ABS computer to know how fast the truck is slowing down or if a rear wheel is about to lock up. The computer can't do its job so it turns on the yellow warning light.

The red light turns on when the parking brake pedal is not fully released, brake fluid level is low in the reservoir, or there's a leak in one of the two hydraulic systems. That can also turn on the yellow ABS light.
