Just rebuilt my 99 motor for the second time, this time the computer is messing up, it is temporarily not shifting and the gauges go crazy. What went wrong? New crank shaft, cam shaft, roller rockers, all aluminum 202 valves, oil pump. Transmission has a fit where the truck will not shift, the gauges go wild and starts to die when the peddle trying to take off faster.

Kinda sounds like you may have missed aground being off someplace or a bad battery. I'd recheck all your connections to makesurethey are good and make sure all grounds and battery terminals are clean. Also check to make sure there is a good ground brom battery to engine, and body. Alot of times there is a ground strap that is bolted to cylinder head on back and goes to body and is not replaced on an engine swap/repair.
