I have the radio and heater removed, two screws on the radio side removed, electrical connectors removed, I can release the lock tab for the park/lock cable but can't seem to push it back far enough to remove it from the housing, also not sure how to remove ignition bezel and light ring

You have to drop the steering column also. There is another bolt that can only be accessed from the steering column side.

As far as the "ignition bezel and light ring", they are part of the lock cylinder, which when you depress the metal tab through the radio opening, you have to get a good grip around the ring and pull the lock cylinder out. You may need to use a screwdriver to break it loose, but be careful not to gouge your dash. Once you drop the steering column you should be able to get better access to get the park lock cable out. The switch is removed through the radio opening. You have to twist it to get it out.

Even if you do get it out and changed, you still will have to tow it to the dealer and reprogram the scurity system to match the new key

It requires some steering column disassembly, and if it is a telescopic column, some special tools. The airbag, steering wheel, and turn signal switch need to be removed, along with lower knee bolster and panel. The cylinder comes with wire leads that need to be fed down the column.
