1999 Buick Park Avenue

I have a 1999 Park Ave. Ultra with duel climate control. I had to put a new battery in and when I hit the ignition I could hear the heater doors woring in the dash. When I started the car I had cold on the drivers side, hot on the passenger and could not change from vent to defrost or floor. Took it to the dealer and they were unable to fix it. I disconnected the battery and done a universal capacitor discharge and reconnected the cables. Now I have hot on the drivers side all the time and the passenger side will change temps and niether side will go from vent, defrost, or floor. It was working perfect before I disconnected the old battery. I need help and evidently my GM dealer mechanics do too.
