Hello,

yes sometime the security system can get mixed up when changing the battery. Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes. Then reconnect the battery, without trying to start the car lock the drivers door using the key. Let the car sit for 30 more minutes. Then unlock the door using the key and the car should start.

Here is a guide for more details.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

Not having installed an alram- or even knowing we had one we had no info on turning it off or resetting it. We found the fuse and removed it.

I disconnected the battery so I could change a light bulb & now the car wont start & the alarm goes off when ignition is on. There is an alarm in it, but we cant use it because we chose not to have it, even though some of it is there. My question is what do I do to get the car to start & stop this alarm from going off.

There should be instruction in the owners manual concerning disconnecting the battery. Look for anti-theft mode.
The manual should have you enter a code to reset anti-theft mode.
