I went to start my car this morning. Car was cranking but did not want to turn over. There is gas in the car and I checked the oil. After the third time I tried to turn the key I heard a pop sound, Did I blow the engine. And if I did not blow the engine are sparkplugs something that I may need to get?

Did the car finally start? Sometimes the fuel pressure regulator will leak fuel past the diaphram and into the intake manifold. This will create a hard start and produce a backfire (the popping noise you heard).

Pull the vacuum hose from the FPR and check/feel/smell for fuel. If there's any, replace it.

Also, is there any check engine lights on? If so, have the computer scanned.
