My truck works in reverse only, but not in drive or any other gear. Did my transmission go out or could there be another issue? My husband put a quart of fluid in and I told him that if it were really low, it may take up to six quarts, but he doesn't listen. Two days later he put in another quart of fluid and a day or two later Lucas transmission fluid treatment and yet another quart of tranny fluid, this being the day it stopped moving! I know fords with the 4R70W tranny's are known for leaks and my husband did smell tranny fluid when he got out of the truck, or could it possibly be that the gasket and things need replaced? Oh I hope this is an easy cheaper fix than the whole transmission! Plz help

If you fill the fluid up and it drives you just need to reseal the transmission.
