Have a 1998 Ford F150 xlt 4x4-has 134000 miles-I have put a new elec. Shift motor on tranfer and also put two new senors on the firewall-but still goes into 4 wheel drive by its self. I can take the shift motor off of tranfer case and lock it in using pilers on the shaft that sticks out of tranfer case and works fine also can drive it around fine in 2 wheel drive without it on transfer case. Soon as I put it back on the transfer case it does the same - it goes to 4 wheel by it self. Any help or thoughts on this problem?

Try this. When the 4x4 system is bound up it sometimes stays stuck in 4x4. Jacking the front wheels off the ground releases the bind and allows you to shift back into 2Hi. The electric motor doesn't have enough torque to move the shift forks.
