I have a 1998 Chevy Malibu and I was driving to work and all of a sudden I started smelling this kind of burning smell and then my car started smoking a little from my defrost vents on my windshield, I stopped the car and opened the hood and opened my cooling tank and it was almost empty and it was the same smell that was coming out of my vents. Then I noticed under my car a lot of liquid was leaking out when I smelt it it just smelled like water but I don't know if it needed to stay in the car, the thermostat went to almost 260 degrees to about 230 I don't know what happened!
