When I first start my 98 Lumina in the mornings (cold start - however it doesn't matter whether it is in the winter or summer), you can put it in gear and try to accelerate to move. But the car just sits there for about 5 or 6 seconds before the automatic transmission finally catches and starts to move. If I'm patient, I just let the engine run for about 10 seconds before I put it in gear. But why would it take so long for the tranny to finally start moving?

Do you
have the same problem?
