You have to make sure the battery has a full charge and all connections to and from battery are clean and tight. The purple wire at the starter solenoid S terminal should be hot with key in the crank position. If it isn't, there are several possibilities, one is the neutral switch. Any testing make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set.
