Need to go to junk yard this weekend weather permitting. Junk yard in omaha ne. So I guess I should get a chime module or two n see if that will cure it. Need to get parts for 00 grand prix gtp that I was asking info on here to. I do have extra switch but might grab another. Is there anything else related to this that I should try to get while there just in case. I wished I had a better wireing diagram for this. Some of the cheap books not real good. Do they still make motorbrand repair manuals or is like a big chiltons worth a damn. Thanks for info. I will get parts n let u no what happens. Let me no if I should get other parts.

When there was no power to the rear window defroster grid its usually the switch or the chime module from all the ones I have seen. If your going to get a chime module make sure you get the same color one orange like yours. They have different colors for different cars.

Thanks for the color info didnt no that one. Pretty much looks easy to tell the module should be the problem with the wiring diagram u sent. My book does not show anything like that. Would have to untape wires n trace them to figure that out. I will let u know what happens. Thanks

Grabbed three modules at the junk yard. First one I put in worked with key in and door open. With headlights on, so I hit the switch for rear defrost n light came on. Left it on a little n felt the glass n it seem to be warmer in the strips. Didnt check any further but im sure it will work. If I would of had the diagram like you gave me im sure I would have got it. Mine isnt anything close to that. When u asked me to take it out n put back in I said it didnt work but I didnt know that had anything to do with it, but we got it im sure. Thanks for the help n I will double check to make sure it works. Thanks

With the defroster on see if there is power and ground to the grid?If so then you have a grid issue.

Each row should light a testlight. Ive seen them tape paper tags on the back window. Then when they pull them off instant grid damage.
