I have a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo and I think I have a problem with it running hot. When the temp needle is halfway between cold and hot, is that considered running hot. This occures on the interstate at 70 mph. Should I install a lower temperature thermstat? Like 160 degrees. I currently have a 180 degree.

No, that needs to remain with the 180. Actually most cars now use a 195 but not yours. As long as it never goes into the red zone, you're good.
