Radio and climate control lights are out

My radio and climate control lights have gone out and I have checked the fuses and they all appear fine. The radio and climate controls work fine just no lights. Any suggestions?

Hi Robsta,

Either the backlight bulbs have fused or the wire connectors to them are bad. You need to remove the control and radio to check.

Hello Sir,

My Radio/Climate Control display and lights are not working. I checked Fuse #6(interior lights) located inside car but it looks good. Can you please tell me what could be wrong?

Hi kevinp1,

You mean all the interior lights are not working? Courtesy lights, instument cluster, dome?

Check Fuse # 32 and 33 for power supply with ignition switch turned to ON.

My 03 accord climate control isn't working but the blower stays on. Note I shut the engine off and about a few mins later fan came on and is still on.

Why my climate control is on the off position and the blower is still running. The air flow switches are working and the temperature control is also working but the A/C won't work. Thank you

It's hot in Atlanta and my AC isn't helping. Hot air blows from the driver's side vents. Cooler air (but not as cold as would be normal) blows from the passenger side. No control mode nor fan or AC setting seems to change this. My mechanic says the AC mechanical system is performing correctly (per his test equipment).

Any ideas?

Thanks for the tip about Auto Zone. I didn't know that they provided this service. However in this case they said there must be no codes since the check engine light was not on. "The AC system won't show codes." Should I have been more persistent?

Due to the complex system you have I recomend you look for an AC specialty shop that is A.S.E. Certified. They can diagnose and give repair quote for a nominal fee. Then let me know what the repair is going to be and I can tell what is going on.

Hi twgraver,

I believe it is the air venting system that is not working well.

Over time of usage, the sponge sealing the vents might have worn off resulting in air leakage internally.
This would result in inaccurate air mix for the AC thus different temperature from the vents.

It could also be the air mix control unit that is faulty thereby providing wrong vent opening and closing.

Does the heater work ok?

Does setting the AC temp at different level changes anything?

The wife's 2004 honda accord coupe's heater system operates intermittently. The heater will not put out heat on a consistent basis. The temperature gauge is indcating the engine is properly warmed and the blower motor is functioning, however the car feels as though the AC is on. Took the car to the dealer last winter and they replaced the climate control unit. The heater system appeared to work for a short period, but the problem returned. Took it back to the dealer and their remedy was to replace the blower motor. The blower motor works fine, so we passed on their suggestion. On a few occasions, we have had the heater to work, but not nearly consistent enough to trust it. Winter is here and I am not sure how to remedy the problem. Have anyone experienced this same problem and if so, were you able to fix the problem?

Hi Ron,

Possibly the air mix motor is not functioning correctly. Check them for binding and intermittent failure.

I am having the same problem on an '04 Accord. Did you ever find anything on yours? My blower motor and heater control valve are good. I can see the air mix motor and arms moving as I change the temp (above the gas pedal). The motor that changes where the air blows out works (passenger side above where the passenger's left foot would be). It looks like it would be a huge ordeal to remove the box to check that something inside is moving.

My climate controls are not working. They have no power. I can't switch the vents and I only get hot air. I've checked all the fuses in the engine compartment and the fuse box near the driver's side door.
