Hello,

The PCM is located under the power brake booster half in and half out of the firewall Here is the location diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed. Cheers.

There is an electrical connection to unplug as well as few bolts probably. Why do you want to removei tin the first place. You'll have to scan for codes first to see if it is bad or a sensor. We don't show a pic of this so it's hard to describe not seeing something that old.

I own a 1989 F150 Lariet and have been experiencing problems with the electrical system. My truck runs fine one moment then completely goes haywire the next. To me it seems like I have an electrical short somewhere and have been feverishly been tracing wires looking for bad connections, pinched wires, or burned up wires. My eec relay "chatters", this relay controls my external fuel pump, and whenever the the problem occurs while driving I have to pull over as because the vehicle is completely undrivable. I replaced the relay and the problem continued. My next step I did was to run a bypass toggle to manually control the pump. But the problem continues. I have tried taking it to the shop but have been told that as long as it is not currently happening there is not much they could do. These problem happens at random intervals. My last episode lasted three months and I was unable to drive it at all so I parked my truck. When I ran the bypass the truck ran fine but alas the problem returns. The check engine light flickers and the truck dies. This problem burned up my last fuel pump from being turned on and off so much so fast along with the eec relay. I feel like the pcm is going bad or that something is sending the pcm bad signals which in turn cause the pcm to output weird signals. HELP ME PLEASE! What can I do?
