My 2000 chevy malibu will have rpm at 2 or 3 in park. And while driving it will be at 3rpm without ever touching the gas. It is the craziest thing. I can go all the way to work without ever touching the gas petal. What wrong? I've had the fuel system cleaned out new spark plugs and spark plug wires. I still have the same problem.

Last question. When I go to start the car (no matter if it's been sitting for a while or not) it will act almost like its flooded. But after a few trys it will start. Now it doesnt do this all the time but will do this probably 3 out of 5 times. Could this also be related to a faulty IAC?

There are 3 in each head. The first three i'm sure you can see at the end of the plug wires. The other three are similarly placed and can be reached with a fle head rachet and plug socket. Sometimes the top dogleg mounts haveto be taken off and the car put in neutral and the engie rocked forward to remove the plugs. Make sure to do this on a cool engine as you can strip the head removing them and put anti-seize on the new plug threads for ease of removal next time.

You have a cylinder missfire you have to find out which cylinder is causing the prob. With engine running remove a spark plug wire one at a time use insulated pliers for this. Each time you remove a wire the eng should idle down. If you get to one that you can remove the wire and the rpms do not drop this is your problem cylinder.

Please feel free to reply if you need more help

Hi Yes it is possible that it is an injector. You need to isolate it to the cyl that has the prob then it could be a injector wire plug. Or mechanical
