When I start the car there is a squeel then when I put it into gear it turns into a louder higher pitched chirp. I just changed the alternator beltt and the belt is tight. The squeel stops once the car is warmed up.

If you replaced the belt you should have replaced the tensioner spray water on belt and if noise goes away replace tensioner

The alternator is used to tighten the tension, this car doesnt have regular tensioners.

Then put a belt tension gauge on the belt and see if it's tight enough.
