Car vibrates during idle and in drive, mechanic is saying motor mounts without taking for test drive or diagnostic simply diagnosed shifting car in gear. Situation car is 1996 Toyota Corolla paid $1500 for it and have already put new tires, struts and $700 work recently. Could motor mounts cause vibration during idle and drive (steering wheel also vibrates). Last work done was a complete tune up replacement of replace back drums new master cylnder. Car had a salvage title - unsure why. Car also seems to run a bit hotter (mid range) when in stop & go traffic. Does not go on fwy, only side streets. Just want to cover all basis before I put more $$ into this car.
