I have a question regarding the 4-wheel drive on my 96 Toyota 4Runner. When I put it in 4-wheel drive the symbol does not light up indicating that the vehicle is in 4 wheel dirve. How can I tell if I'm in 4 wheel dirve or not? I'm not sure if the indicator lamp is not functioning or if I have a bigger problem with the truck. The transmission is working great in 2-wheel drive but I can't tell if the 4-wheel function is working.

Thanks!
Mike

In gravel, see if the tires spin easily. That is one way to check 4wd operation.
