My 4unner limited has 227,000 miles, and is now developed a ticking in the engine. What can I do to correct this?

I have had success with some of the proprietary additives for the oil, GM has one for noisy hydraulic lash adjusters that really works, but its probably the same as what Pep Boys sells, cheap and quick.
