In the picture the numbers = 9 - intake air door, 10 - mode door, 11 - air mix door
Those are the actuators on the manual AC system. The mix/blend door actuator is reached by removing the glove box trim strip on the right, then remove the screws around the glove box, disconnect the wire connector and remove the box.
Inside you will see a duct connection that you need to remove and the blend actuator is behind it. The duct should have a plastic tab that you move to release it. The actuator is removed by disconnecting the electrical connector, then remove the screws and the actuator. Reverse this process to install the replacement. Check out the diagrams (Below). I submitted a question earlier and got an answer. Thank you. I just wanted to add to my question and wasn’t sure how to do so. My question is.
The mode door is the door I need to move the lever on? Right?
This is exactly what’s occurring. I forgot to include this. I’m not sure if it will make a difference or not but better safe than sorry. When I turn my AC on it blows hot hot heater air. Not room temperature air “hot” heater air. So I turned AC & Heater both completely off and it’s still blowing hot hot heater air out of the vents even when everything is turned off. So obviously it’s stuck on heater mode? Correct? Wouldn’t you say that was the problem? This is what’s making it so unbearable to drive. Because even with the windows down I can’t even enjoy the breeze due to the constant hot heater air blowing out of my vents at me even though everything is turned off. I never knew there where so many doors. Is it called the blend door or mode door? I just want to make sure I’ve got the correct door and can for the time being go in and manually move the lever(arm) that controls the AC/Heater door from off heater to on AC? Just until I can afford to replacement the motor for it and install it. I’ve seen other people on YouTube just manually move the lever for the time beginning and just wanted to make sure that’s something I will be able to do as well? I’m sorry please bare with me. I’m learning and just want to avoid any mistakes if possibly. I’ve been researching this for 2 months now. I’m 98% sure this is my problem. I just didn’t have a clue which one of the many doors I needed to move the lever on and where that door was located under my dash? Thank you for helping me and being so patient with my questions. I love the fact I can ask mechanic questions regarding my vehicle and get correct quality advice and answers so quickly. I truly appreciate it.

The actuator would be the blend door actuator. It's located behind the glove box. I'll post a diagram and instructions below. Let me know if manually moving it helps.

AIR MIX DOOR MOTOR : Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. Remove the glove box assembly. Refer to "Removal and Installation" See: Glove Compartment > Removal and Replacement > Removal and Installation.
2. Remove the upper floor connecting duct (RH). Refer to "Exploded View" See: Housing Assembly HVAC > Removal and Replacement > Exploded View.
3. Disconnect the harness connector from the air mix door motor.
4. Remove the air mix door motor screws and the air mix door motor.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

GLOVE BOX ASSEMBLY

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. Remove the instrument side finisher RH using a suitable tool.

2. Remove the glove box assembly (1) upper screws (A).

3. Remove the glove box assembly lower screws (A).
4. Disconnect the harness connectors from the trunk switch and glove box lamp, then remove the glove box assembly.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Please help me I’m so confused. Both diagrams that you sent me say take glove box out. I’ve got the glove box removed but I don’t understand what to do now and the diagram is so confusing. Is there any other instructions or diagram to better give me an idea of where it is exactly. Feeling hopeless

I’m happy and excited to say I was successful at locating it, removing it and manually closing the heater door and opening the AC door. This was in fact the cause of my AC suddenly no longer working and blowing hot heater air whether turned on or off. I’m so excited to have my AC is working again and I was able to save $300.00 plus dollars. Thank you so much for all your help. Your awesome. Thank you again.

The problem is how do you get to the screws to change it out? There is not enough space to get your hand in there. Mine is on the side.

Hello again,

You can get a socket with the screwdriver head that you need in it at a hardware store. This should afford the ability to get into a tight spot and unscrew the screw.

Blows heat through vents but won't switch to defrost.I have checked for vacuum leaks under the hood

What vehicle are you working on and as Ken asked can you upload a picture of the duct. Most either snap in or use push fasteners to secure them at one end that then holds the part in place.
