Typically, when I press on the brake pedal, it'll hit a full stop at around 1-inch compression. Today, however, it starts to brake, but then the pedal continues to press down without any further reduction in speed. The brake fluid is about an inch below the "High" level, but there does seem to be a good amount there. Any ideas?

The master cylinder could be failing.

With vehicle in park, start engine and depress pedal and hold. If it continues to sink after a short while, the master cylinder is due for repair/replacement.

Yep. Kept sinking all the way to the bottom.

Just had my car in for an AC repair too.
