We have a 1995 full size Ford Van. On a trip this summer the transmission went out and we had to have it replaced. At the same time the speedometer went out. We have had it a the Ford Dealership and they can't figure out what is wrong with it. They tried replacing the cluster and that didn't work. They did get the speedometer to only bounce about a 5 mile variance but they don't know what they did. The ABS light is on, the brake light is on (since they worked on it, but said not to worry), the check airbag light is on, the bright light indicator is off. Yesterday, the speedometer started bouncing all over the place again.
They say it is not a sensor or module. Help

It sounds like a bad Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). That could turn on the brake light, ABS light, and cause the speedo issue. I can't remember for sure from 96, but check to see if there is a sensor on the top of the differential. Remove it and check to see if there is continuity between the pins on the VSS. If there is none, replace it.
