I have a 96 ford f150 rear wheel drive, im having trouble getting drum cover back on over the shoes onto the studs any thoughts

First be sure both shoes are touching the large anchor pin on top of the backing plate. Next, use your thumb to push the parking brake strut rod against the anti-rattle spring pressure. That bar must move freely at least 1/16". If either of those things are not correct, check the parking brake cables to see if one is stuck partially applied. Be sure the star wheel adjusters are turned down all the way.
