I was driving on the highway in 5th (its a five speed) and we came across a small incline on the highway, now my car has had issues with hills before and I either have to give it a bit more gas or downshift, after climbing near the top my car made a noise, like crashing or a snapping kinda noise and then my RPM's shot up to around the 6's and I pretty much instantly dropped from 65 to around 50ish. After pulling to the shoulder of the highway and turning it off, I find that the clutch pretty much is all give and has no pressure and I couldn't shift into any gear at all. Is my clutch ruined?
its a 96 ford escort, about 200,000 thousand miles
