My fuel gauge doesn't work properly, when I turn on the key, the fuel gauge goes to full, then it slowly drops to empty even when there is 6 gallons in it. I have changed out the fuel pump twice with wrecking yard pumps but doesn't seem to help, even with pump connected and I manually move the float up or hold fuel float in the middle the gauge is not working properly.I don't believe it is the float. Was thinking of putting an extra ground wire on the fuel pump ground and grounding it to chassis and seeing if this does anything. Do you think it could be the computer or maybe the cluster? Any suggestions. Is this a common problem?
Thank you.
