1995 FORD F-150 POWER STEERING NOISE

My power steering seems to be getting louder when I turn. Am I supposed to change my power steering fluid? I don't think it has ever been done. I don't want to wait too long and have to buy a power steering pump because the fluid is bad. How many miles between changes?

Visually inspect the fluid, it should be clear enough to see through. Contaminated fluid is usually dark and full of impurities from rust and O-rings from time and use. It would be a good idea to have the power steering fluid flushed and replaced with new power steering fluid. Newer cars use long lasting fluid and may not need to be changed for the life of the car, check your owners manual for the recommended service interval before attempting this service.
