My 1995 ford f 150 suddenly stalled when I was driving. It restarted and idles but bogs down when I press the gas pedal and dies. I replaced the air and fuel filters, the throttle positioning sensor and read the codes. I have an engine running code 311 which is thermactor air system inoperative. The air pump puts out air. I haven't tested the bypass and diverter valves yet other than to see that they have vacuum. Could the thermactor system be the problem or fuel pressure or maybe even a clogged catalytic converter?

Rob,
did you ever get an answer to your question about code 311? I drove 2000 across the country and had the engine "starve" while on the interstate. Fuel filter was new before the trip and checked again after in shop (clear flow). Doubt exhaust plugged but wondered what you found.
Thanks,
