Thanks, you guys, for taking time to answer these questions. My 96 Tahoe is in pretty good shape and I maintain it pretty well. One thing I have noticed it doing is hesitating right when I press the accelerator pedal hard, and then it responds. Is this an injector issue, or something else?

Hello,

This sounds like a bad MAF sensor here is a guide to help you change it out with a diagram below to show you on your car.

Please provide more info. What code numbers are being displayed?

Are any codes logged as a History code?

Have you reset the ECM and the SES light returns?

Is your V8 a throttle body type?

Do you mean that you are experiencing hesitation from a stand still throughout 1st to 2nd gear and then the hesitation lessens?

My problem is a 97 Tahoe 4 door 4x4, when at idle have no issues but as soon as you put a load or apply gas to it, it bogs down and falls on its face. Have check mass air flow, check fuel pressure at rail I'm getting around 52 lbs, when running same presume. If you put starter fluid to to it when it is hesitating it seems to help. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Are there any trouble codes indicating a lean fuel mixture?

Also, fuel pressure should be between 56 and 66 psi. Your's is a little low. Have you checked for a partially plugged fuel filter? Have you confirmed the regulator is good and working correctly, not sucking fuel into the vacuum hose?

My 95 tahoe has a bit of a stumble/miss at the top of the gas pedal, when I get past the top of the pedal it seems to be fine. I have replaced the plugs wires cap rotor air and fuel filter pcv valve and the tps. It seems a little better but still has that. Also when it idles sometimes it has a bit of a missfire/ stumble. I also checked the egr valve and it holds but the travel upward is not very smooth. Could it be the egr even though it holds in place?

If the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned for codes. Also, check for tune up. You may need to check engine compression due to the miles on the vehicle.
