Engine light came on so oil was checked. Found it to be low but it was due for oil change. I took it to nearby auto shop and they found oil filter adapter leaking badly. Stated they had to MAKE new gasket as they were not available anymore, at the tune of $179.00. At closing time went back to pick up car and mechanic states it will cost $707.00 to fix. Seems oil pan GASKET and Timing Chain Cover GASKET are leaking but mechanic couldn't see this before fixing and trying out new fix as stated. Now my question. Is this possible, 3 gaskets at same time and does this seem like a REASONABLE price for 3 gaskets and labor to fix. If. It does fix the oil leak?
PS. I didn't know Timing Chain Cover has anything to do with oil. Silly me.
