My Isuzu is a 1994 3.1L Diesel auto. I have found to my horror that it does not drive all 4 wheels in reverse, bad news when trying to do a three point turn in the mountains in snow and mud. Is it possible it has something to do with the auto hubs? We have no trouble in forward low or high range.
When changing back to two wheel drive the front hubs do not disengage completely without reversing and turning sharply left and right in reverse. A local 4x4 shop says this is normal or common with auto hubs. Your comment?
Thanks.

I agree with your shop. It is a common issue with auto hub. I suggest you look for an update kit. It will resolve your issue.
