HARSH SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE. HARSH SHIFT FROM REVERSE (THROUGH NEUTRAL) TO DRIVE. POSSIBLY FAILS TO DOWNSHIFT WHEN SLOWING TO MAKE A SHARP TURN UNTIL MOMENTS OUT OF THE TURN. DELAYED/HARSH UPSHIFT WHEN ACCELERATING TO POSTED SPEED (25 MPH TO 45 MPH / 2ND TO 3RD). OVERDRIVE DOESN'T SEEM TO ENGAGE (SHIFT SELECTOR OD). FLUID LEVEL CORRECT. LINKAGE CORRECT. ENGINE OK.
REPLACED FILTER 18 MONTHS/8000 MILES AGO.
JUST REPLACED FILTER. FLUID DARK RED. COULDN'T DETECT BURNT ODOR. ADDED LUCAS TRANSMISSION FIX, NO CHANGE.
YESTERDAY AFTER DRIVING (TRANSMISSION HOT) LOST ALL GEARS.
TOWED VEHICLE HOME AND PUSHED IT INTO DRIVEWAY.
MY QUESTION: WHAT COMPONENTS FAILED ANDWILL BE REPLACED AT THE SHOP?
Transmissios are very complex and there are a number of things that may have go wrong here, just impossible to give you a correct answer, I could not do this with out first having the transmission out and pulled apart to inspect, but I would be expecting either a shift valve or servo problem, they should do a line pressure test before removing the transmission, this will give an indication to the oil pump, governor and torque converter operation.
