1994 FORD RANGER HELP IF YOU CAN

A mechanic told me it was my fuel pump so had one put in its not the fuel pump its got to do with from the gas tank up to the motor its not getting any fuel to the carburator have took lines off cleaned them out. Truck will run as long as u put gas or something in the carburator the minute u stop it stops running. I know this aint to good about whats wrong but, I know nothing about cars so all I can do is try. Its a 6 cylinder 4.0 motor extended cab if this helps at all

You don't even have a carburetor. You truck is fuel injected.
The first thing you need to do is take a fuel pressure read at the service port of the fuel rail.
