Mornin' Doc,

Sometimes, the self adjusters on Ford drum type brakes, fail to adjust, over time and shoe wear. The pedal must be pushed deeper to expand the shoes, further against the drums. Adjusting the adjusters, or replacing non-serviceable parts, as well as "Proper Bleeding Techniques" may also help your situation.
