1993 Ford F-150 starting and running

On this truck we replaced Moduler, throttle body sensor, fuel regulator pressure valve, plugs and wires, cap and rotar, can get it started by moving distributor, runs rough then move distributor to clean up runs good turn the truck off wont start until you move the distributor again. Timing gears or timing chain?

You may have timing chain problems but id pull the distributor and look at the gears and make sure theres no slop in the shaft first
