Windshield washer has stopped working

My windshield washer has stopped working. It stopped during a recent cold spell but won't work at all during any weather conditions. The tank is full of fluid. Could the line be clogged? How do I test it? Where is the washer pump located? Is it separate from the wiper motor?

Hey WWASKO,

Can you hear the washer motor running when you hit the button? if so then the nozzles are clogged which is a common problem, take a small pin while the washer pump is working and then unplug them, if you can hear the pump motor running check fuse #12 7.5A (in fuse box left side of dash) then check washer relay (underhood) there is a relay for front, and one for rear washer. The pump is located bottom of reservoir.

Here is a guide that tell you what you are in for when replacing the washer motor.

Please let us know happens so it will help others.

Sorry it took so long to respond but I havent been getting my email alerts to say I got response to questions I have answered. If it works sometimes its not the fuse. When its inop see what your missing power or ground. Lets start there.

Check the switch in the jug remove it and check the screen on it. It may need cleaning including the jug. If thats clean and the motors running. Check for clogged nozzles

You need to find out why.

Start with checking the fuses with a test light to see if any are bad.

Tap on the wiper motor to see if it starts. If it does, then the motor is bad.

The washer solvent pump is not working. Before I go and take the bottle out, I'd like to check the fuse first, however, I do not know what fuse to look at. Any suggestions?

It should be in the owner's manual. Let me know. Also, you should be able to see a burnt fuse in the box.
