WHY DOES MY TRUCK START BETTER COLD THAN WARM?

I just replaced the battery and the post cables. It starts fine when cold. But if I go to the store and come out again too soon, it acts flooded. Does this truck have a fly wheel belt? Maybe it needs tightened or replaced?
